Hello everyone - Debbie Robinson is a member of NRAS but does not have a PC and several of you met her and her daughter, Jessica, at the Leicester get-together. I am writing this because she is in hospital and has been extremely ill
She had a successful knee replacement, but 3 weeks after became very ill and was taken into hospital again where they found she was infected with a 'flesh-eating bug' and they have had to cut a lot of skin away from her stomach. All very scary and nasty and she was in intensive care for some time. I'm pleased to say that she is 'on the up' now and responding to medication. She says she has had a 'tummy tuck' on the NHS and when she was weighed, had lost another 11 lbs !!! Not the way you want to lose weight, but there has to be something positive in everything.
I am writing all this because I know what a supportive bunch you all are and I thought if you would leave messages for her, I will print them all off and take them to her. It would give her such a lift to know you are all rooting for her.
Thank you my friends. I know you won't let her down.

Hi Debbie, Great to meet you but sorry to hear how ill you have been. I'm so glad to hear you are now improving but what a dreadful time you have had. What a shame you don't have a computer, it would be good to "chat" with you on the forum. I am 60 and have had RA for 9 years. I live with my husband of 31 years (crikey!) Ian, and our 21 year old daughter Hannah, who has just graduated in Law at university. I hope you continue to improve and are soon out of hospital. And if ever you have chance to get on line, come and have a chat with us on here. Love and hugs, Doreen xx

Hello Debbie
Welcome to our little community, great to have you here
I am Julia and have had RA for about 16 months, I have a son of 19 and Phoebe my little pug.
I am really sorry to hear how very poorly you have been in recent days, and pleased to hear that you are now on the mend - thank goodness.
It was just a thought, but a little while ago I didn t have a computer so I would go to my local library and use theirs. If you would like to keep in touch by snail mail I am happy for you to contact NRAS for my details, it is good to keep in touch with others.
Thinking of you, love Julia xx

Hi Debbie It was lovely to meet you and Jessica in Leicester; I'm glad you were able to join us, it was such a fab day! So sorry to hear of your recent problems, that must have been a really scary time for you. Glad that you are now on the mend and continuing to improve. Tummy tuck on the NHS, now Debbie that really is cheating, but in the circumstances the very least you deserved and what a nice surprise when you got on the scales! It would be lovely to welcome you to the forum and perhaps one day that will become a reality. In the meantime take care, love to Jess and all the very best in the coming weeks. Love Lyn xx Thanks Ann for letting us know; do please keep us updated on Debbie's progress.

Hi Debbie
You don't know me as I wasn't at Leicester, but wanted to wish you a speedy recovery after your horrible bug. It must have been very scary for you, and I suppose it's a consolation to have lost some weight.
I hope you continue to improve, and that you'll come onto the forum one day.
Lyn

Thank you for all your lovely posts. I will pass them all on to Debbie who is fighting like a good old trooper and is coming through with flying colours. She is still in hospital and her recovery will be a long job.
Thanks again, I just know your posts will give her a boost.
